What this checks
- The file exists and is real text — not the homepage served for every unknown path
- It starts with exactly one H1 title (the only required part)
- A blockquote summary follows the title
- Every list item is a proper
- [name](url): noteslink - The file stays a short index rather than a dump of full content
- Whether
llms-full.txtexists - Whether the first 10 links return 200, redirect, or are broken

Frequently asked questions
What is llms.txt?
llms.txt is a Markdown file at the root of a site (/llms.txt) that gives AI tools a short, curated guide to its most important pages. It was proposed by Jeremy Howard of Answer.AI in September 2024.
What does a valid llms.txt need?
Only an H1 title ("# Site name") is required. The recommended structure adds a "> summary" blockquote, then "## " sections listing links as "- [name](url): notes". A section titled "Optional" marks links an AI may skip.
What is llms-full.txt?
A companion file that contains the full text of your key pages in one document, for tools that want everything at once instead of following links.
Does ChatGPT or Google use llms.txt?
No major AI company has officially committed to reading llms.txt, and Google has said it does not use it for Search. It costs little to add, but don’t expect it to change rankings or traffic on its own.
Why does the checker only test 10 links?
To keep checks fast and polite to your server. The first 10 links are usually your most important pages; if those work, the file is in good shape.
